Product Overview
Fiber cement board is a composite material made from Portland cement, cellulose or synthetic fibers, and silica-based fillers. It combines the strength and fire resistance of cement with the workability and flexibility of fiber-reinforced materials.
Unlike calcium silicate board (which uses a lime-silica reaction), fiber cement relies on the cement hydration process for its primary strength. This gives it superior performance in wet and exterior environments.

Density Grades & Applications — Dual Standard System
| JC/T 412.1-2018 | EN 12467 | ASTM C1186 | Density (g/cm³) | Sat. Flexural Strength | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| A类 (室外) | Class 3 (≥13 MPa) Category A (exterior) |
Type A | ≥ 1.5 | ≥ 13 MPa | Exterior cladding, ventilated facades, high-wind zones, structural fire encasement, LOFT flooring |
| B类 (半室外) | Class 2 (≥7 MPa) Category B (semi-exterior) |
Type B | 1.2–1.5 | ≥ 10 MPa | Semi-exterior soffits, interior partition walls, wet areas (with waterproofing), backer boards |
| C类 (室内) | Class 1 (≥4 MPa) Category C (interior) |
Type B | 0.9–1.2 | ≥ 8 MPa | Interior ceilings, non-load-bearing partitions, decorative linings, furniture backing |
Notes: (1) JC/T 412.1-2018 A类 also requires passing 50 heat-rain cycles. (2) EN 12467 Category A adds freeze-thaw + warm water durability requirements. (3) ASTM C1186 Type A requires ≥10 MPa flexural strength; Type B ≥7 MPa.

Common Surface Finishes
- Natural / Smooth Grey — unfinished, ready for on-site painting or tiling
- Factory Pre-Coated — fluorocarbon (PVDF) or ceramic coating for 20–30 year color warranty
- Through-Colored — pigment integrated through the full board thickness, cut edges match surface
- Wood Grain / Stone Texture — embossed surface patterns for architectural facades
- Photocatalytic Self-Cleaning — titanium dioxide coating that breaks down surface dirt under UV light
What to Check Before Ordering
- Saturated flexural strength report — not just dry-state. Demand ≥ 13 MPa for A类/Class 3 exterior use, ≥ 10 MPa for B类/Class 2 semi-exterior.
- Non-asbestos certification — XRD analysis from an ISO 17025 accredited lab. This is non-negotiable.
- Density verification against classification — A类 ≥ 1.5, B类 1.2–1.5, C类 0.9–1.2 g/cm³. Batch-to-batch tolerance of ±0.1 g/cm³ is acceptable.
- Durability certification — For A类: 50 heat-rain cycle report per JC/T 412.1-2018. For EN 12467 Category A: freeze-thaw + warm water test report.
- Coating adhesion and UV resistance — for factory-finished panels. Cross-cut test and QUV accelerated weathering.
- Moisture expansion data — critical for joint design. Higher values require wider joints and more flexible sealants.
Technical parameters reference JC/T 412.1-2018 (China), EN 12467 (EU), and ASTM C1186 (US). Actual specifications should be confirmed against current standards and project-specific requirements.
